800 kV HVDC Power Transmission Line – 1st in India

Emco Limited has, finally, grabbed Rs. 458 Crore work order from Power Grid Corporation for execution of a HVDC transmission line from Champa to Kurukshetra. This order is part of the prestigious 800 kV HVDC overhead transmission line network to be laid from Champa, Chhattisgarh to Kurukshetra, Haryana.

The said 800 kV HVDC transmission line has been designed to carry 6,000 MW power from generating stations in Chhattisgarh to Northern Grid. The scope of said work order also involves supply of galvanized steel towers which Emco Limited would manufacture at its Asoj facility in Gujarat. Emco Limited has bagged this project after going through a very stringent qualification criteria set by PGCIL and finally won the tender against very stiff competition.

Emco Limited has earlier commissioned a 500 KM transmission line project for Power Grid Corporation in the current fiscal year.
